🗿 The Only Joint Tomb of an Imperial Couple

🏛 Qianling is unique both in China and globally as the only joint tomb of two emperors—a husband and wife. It is the final resting place of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and his wife, Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history.

Along the sacred way stand 61 stone statues, symbolizing Tang Dynasty diplomatic relations.

🏯 Historical Background

Yide Crown Prince’s Tomb is the tomb of Li Chongrun, the grandson of Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Empress Wu Zetian.

Li Chongrun was the eldest son of Emperor Zhongzong of Tang and Empress Wei. He was beaten to death in Luoyang for privately discussing Wu Zetian’s late-life affairs with his sister, Princess Yongtai, and brother-in-law, Wu Yanji.

In 705, Emperor Zhongzong ascended the throne and posthumously honored him as Crown Prince with the title “Yide.” In 706, his remains were relocated to Shaanxi and buried near Qianling with imperial honors, designating the tomb as a mausoleum.

Yide Crown Prince’s Tomb is the largest and most prestigious imperial tomb among all excavated Tang Dynasty tombs.

🚶♂️ Entering from the western gate of the cultural scenic area, visitors will see the Buddha Light Avenue, stretching about 1 km.

🛕 On both sides of the avenue stand ten giant golden Bodhisattva statues, radiating solemnity.

🏯 At the end of the avenue lies the Hehe Pagoda, which enshrines the sacred Buddha Finger Relic.

Group Formation

The tour requires a minimum of 1 participant and allows a maximum of 45 people (including seated children). If the tour is canceled due to the travel agency's reasons, compensation will be made according to the contract's breach terms. If the number of travelers exceeds the limit, a compensation of 10% of the total order amount will be issued.

This is a shared group tour that may combine guests from different travel agencies for transportation, while maintaining the same service standards.

For group travel, the booking person/travel representative confirms that they have obtained consent from all other travelers to act as the signing representative for this tour. The signatures of the entrusted person on the travel contract and its attachments are recognized by all entrusting parties.
